Sleep is a great thing. It is underestimated by those without children and greatly appreciated by those of you with kids. The age old saying ‘you won’t miss it until it is gone’ may not often be used with the word sleep but as any parent with a newborn will tell you, it should be. Sleep can be hard to come by when your little one is crying at all hours and that is why we do what we do with our Sleepytot baby comforter. It works and we have very happy customers. For those of you without our baby comforter you will learn a few things about being up all night.
9 things a parent with a newborn will learn from being up all night;
Netflix is essential (or other good TV)
You will be up for hours on end sometimes and you will need something to keep you busy. Netflix or other good TV is a great way of doing just that.
Partner’s snoring is infuriating (how can they sleep)
There isn’t much to say here. When you have been woken up by your little one and can’t get back to sleep, you will find a lot of bad feelings to you partner who is sleeping away and worse of all, snoring.
Midnight snacks happen (a lot)
The problem with being up all night is you get hungry. Instead of sleeping a solid 7 hours and waking up for breakfast you will already be hungry and eaten by the early morning.
Moody and grumpy feelings come about
Unless we are very lucky most of us will get a little bit grumpy through a lack of sleep. Prepare for this because you might end up in a nasty mood.
Sleeping with the little one is amazing (when it eventually comes)
When it eventually comes to happen, sleeping with your newborn child is amazing. For all their screaming they are still so tiny, full of loving and cute.
Invest in essential black out curtains
You don’t want to get to sleep at 4 only for the sunlight to wake you up at 8. Get some blackouts.
Give up on making sense of things
Sleep deprivation does not make us logical thinkers. We suffer a bit and that will result in our minds just not working.
Sleep when the baby sleeps rule – Doesn’t work out that way
If we all slept when the baby slept we’d never get much done in the day time
The charming smiles, cuddles and laughter make it all worth it
These are just some of the things you will encounter if your child is keeping you up at night. However there are ways of avoiding this as best you can. With a good bed time routine and a Sleepytot Baby comforter your little one should sleep peacefully most nights and you need not experience the above.
